Youtube you failed me yet again. It would’ve been nice to show me this one 5 days ago prior to me spending 12hours on learning/simplifying all this power/data delivery stuff 🙄🙄
It’s been nearly 2 years. When are they coming out?
Looks like 240 watt is not enough for your treadmill too avg XL merican. 🤣
over 2 years now. WHERE ARE THEY? Techlinked said they are coming out "soon" back in spring 2021. Still nothing. Why create so much hype out of nothing? Sure, the 240w cables are here but not the chargers and devices that can be charged with this standard.
So arcing is the reason my brand new razer blade 17 280w charger has black marks near the end of the US standard plug, interesting.
you know, I love Anthony more than Linus, most of the time. Because is cute, calm and also very kind in case of communication. He so clear while speaking even in old age brr brrr speakers unlike Linus.
<………sowwy Linus> ( ^w< )
Yeah but when. Come on already.
Anthony seems so comfortable and engaging here
Can a laptop capable of asking for 230w safely use a USB-C charger (example Anker 715 65w charger) or would it overload?
The goal is to limit charging speed for the little 60whr laptop battery which gets crazy hot when charging with the normal 230w brick.
Ps system normally draws 45-70w from the wall.
Thank you amazing video!
Too funny. Justin got the green painters tape out marking 60watt, 100watt, and…..wait for it…240 WATT WITH 10GIG DATA.
Its only a foot long however. smh.
Just upgraded everything to GaN and PD.
If unplugging causes arcing, should I simply turn off the charger outlet first, before unplugging then?
USB-P don’t touch the third rail..
Watching this video because I lost (I tihnk) my laptop charger :/ Wish it was usb-c
So much power lol
if I can’t charge a car with USB c then whats the point?
I miss him.
2 years later we are up to 180 watt
this aged well
Can I get a space heater with 10 USB-C ports??
Dangg one day imma see usb c for electric cars. 🤣🤣🤣
I use my chromebook charger to charge my phone
As a commercial video editor, I just want the ability for USB/Thunderbolt to have enough wattage capacity to power my large NVMe enclosures (I use a 32GB OCE Express 4m2 for example) via my MacBookPro, without a separate power brick being necessary. This would be huge for portability, traveling, or even just being able to move from my desk to the couch.
The future I need.
Why the hell doesn’t the usb forum just call 240w c something like, "usb c 240" and then c 120 for 120 watts, ect ect. boom, solved.
i can’t find my laptop charger tip gender. MSI GP76 is my laptop. let me know~~~
2:38 how about they just unplug it first from the wall station before unplugging on phone.
It’s been 2 years and I still haven’t seen any 240W usb-c chargers
240w is probably fast enough to charge an ebike as well
When are they coming out? still no info on them
Apple finally changed their phones for marketing reasons. Apple & Intel developed the Thunderbolt hardware interface back in 2011. MacBooks have had the USB C ports since 2015, iPad Pros since 2018.
Hello, Host from the film.
As for very fast charging, I don’t believe in this technology. Physically, chemically and realistically, there is no way to charge a cell in a phone with 240 or now 300W, which has 3.87V and after charging 4.45V with currents of 20V/12 or 15A.
The cable itself must be properly adapted + the module in the phone must be able to cope with temperatures that kill all electronic modules in such a closed housing.
In the EU there is a ban on using lead, which shows that February is already around 80oC… DRAMA!!! 🙁 18-33W QC PD is ok, more this is pure stupidity.
usb-c wall sockets would be trippy
Realme gt neo 5 240w hold my beer
Considering how slow wall outlet brands have been to adopt normal PD. They not gonna make a 240w usb wall outlet.
Is there any mini pc which can be charged by standard usb-c (if not wrong it charges at 5 volts)
Can you think of any reason I cant Usb c powered screw driver at 67 watt or higher? Thoughts please thank you
This could be an interesting development if we were to replace most connectors with type-c in the home appliance space too. You don’t disconnect these often but it’d be nice to be able to use type-C with your kettle, toaster or iron.
“How do you know that?”
And the bad news is, most cable companies cheap out because your average consumer just sees cheap cable seems durable, and buys it. Meanwhile everyone gets at least a bit screwed over and it becomes a pain in the arse to find a half way decent cable that supports the correct specs, because they still try to make charging only cables or 2.0 cables, or for the love of dog A to C cables…though I guess that’s useful for PC peripherals. Seriously, I just want some one cable does it all from 4.0 to displayport over type C, not trying out 5 cables til I pick the right one with support for what I need.
These logos need to be on the CABLE, not the box…
i fucking hate USB-C
Thanks for the simple and explained voltage differences from the standard 3.1 usb-c 100w cables to the new 2.1 usb-c 240 watt cables and the real ignorance’s of companies and the illiterate communities as they use the ( NAME GAME / UN_LABLELING ) of the products on the products that should be labeled as ( HIGH POWER ) that can destroy common products on the market.. I deal in high power and my cables ranges from 72v to 90v at 5-9 amps over distances for landscape lighting.
Is it really true? does usb c charge faster than micro usb? Yes….. but…. you can get devices to charge faster using the red port (fast charging port) instead of green, however that can be bad if your device does not support fast charging. I have an X-Dragon 25,000 power bank with two usb ports, micro and type-c, but nowhere does it say the device can be charged using a fast charging port. So I guess using a type-c is like an in the middle step up from micro toward fast charger port, and a type-c in the fast charging port is most powerful of all, if supported.
Why does it seem like the USB-IF guys are drunk all the time?
I think there is a Intel mole in the USB standards naming division.
Is there a lead that will allow phone to be charged while a external SSD attached to watch movies or backing phone up to SSD ?
Can the devices tell what standard the cable supports? Or will they happily burn out the cable if you use two 240w devices with an old cable?
can someone just recommend me a good usb c charger tht will last long enough for me to use my dualsense on my PC
Barrel plugs are easier to polish when years of arcing tarnish the contacts.
Probably most of the new mid range gaming laptops released this year that use 240W or less will support this new USB-C standard and possibly all ship with USB-C chargers that match the maximum amount of power the laptop can use! 🙂
